AB Dynamics has announced the launch of ClearTrack - a new object detection system for driverless robot-controlled vehicle testing.

ClearTrack is a fully integrated solution that enhances safety and efficiency by enabling automated obstacle detection and avoidance during durability, misuse, and mileage accumulation testing. The system features a high-resolution, solid-state, ultra-long-range (500m) LiDAR sensor. It connects seamlessly with AB Dynamics’ Automated Driverless Testing solution.

“ClearTrack amplifies the benefits of driverless testing by helping protect valuable prototypes from damage and enabling more vehicles to operate simultaneously on the same track,” said Jonathan Barry, Senior Embedded and Control Software Engineer at AB Dynamics. “It provides an additional layer of situational awareness, allowing operators to safely monitor and control more vehicles with less effort.”

ClearTrack is designed for fast and simple deployment and is compatible with almost any vehicle. It supports test speeds of up to 130 km/h and includes motion compensation technology to ensure consistent performance even in high-vibration environments. The system can be finely tuned to filter out non-threatening obstacles and includes configurable settings for different test environments, such as tunnels or bridges.

Developed in collaboration with ABD Solutions, ClearTrack builds on AB Dynamics' commitment to delivering innovative, integrated solutions for the automotive testing industry.
