AB Dynamics’ subsidiary Ansible Motion has launched its new Theta Cube Sport driving simulator specifically developed for motorsports.
The reveal of the new Theta Cube Sport marks the official launch of Ansible Motion’s new Sport simulator product line, which spans its Delta, Sigma and Theta driving simulator series. It brings the realism of large, permanently installed systems into a transportable and self-contained package.
With the first example already deployed to a confidential motorsport customer, the new Theta Cube Sport is designed, engineered and built at Ansible Motion’s headquarters in Hethel, England, and joins the company’s growing list of products specifically designed for competition car manufacturers and teams worldwide, covering competitions such as FE, WEC, WRC, NASCAR and IndyCar.
Dan Clark, Ansible Motion’s managing director, comments:
“Theta Cube Sport is a leap forward for compact, transportable motorsport simulators. It delivers a comprehensive, engineering-class DIL experience in a lightweight, fully enclosed form factor that’s quick to install, operate and connect to external simulation environments. With compatibility across our multi-sim ecosystem and support for full vehicle and driver immersion systems, it offers motorsport customers a unique, engineering-grade, future-proof solution.”
The Theta Cube Sport is an all-new, comprehensive, ground-up reimagining of Ansible Motion’s renowned Theta Cube DIL simulator, delivering a transportable, 2.5m3 self-contained virtual test-driving solution, specifically configured for motorsports applications.
Despite its compact footprint, the Theta Cube Sport integrates a full suite of sensory feedback and immersion systems, including a reconfigurable race car cockpit and dash environment, as well as an adjustable racing seat, pedals and multi-function steering wheel.
For a simulator to deliver truly accurate results, it must convince drivers that they are interacting with real vehicles, facing real driving situations and scenarios. This level of immersion is essential for producing accurate behavioural and physiological responses that feed directly into engineering and setup decisions. By replicating the full spectrum of sensory inputs – from what the driver sees and hears to what they feel through the steering, pedals and seat – Theta Cube Sport creates a natural, convincing environment where realistic virtual test-driving sessions can occur.
Theta Cube Sport’s contained environment enables the inclusion of a bespoke multi-projection vision system, offering a 180-degree horizontal screen wrap, 1.2-metre image height and 2,900 lumens brightness, which delivers class-leading visual immersion with zero content buffering or delay, making it unique among compact static simulators. Thanks to image processing power from high-performance image generation PCs, seamless image warp and blend technology, and engineering-grade graphics tools from rFpro – another AB Dynamics subsidiary – the world’s most realistic visual simulation environments can be generated and rendered within Theta Cube Sport.
From high-fidelity rendering to real-time data flow and system integration, Theta Cube Sport is engineered to support advanced vehicle development workflows. Whether feeding live data to engineers, synchronising with external modelling tools, or enabling accurate scenario playbacks, the simulator’s underlying architecture provides the speed, openness, reconfigurability and analytical depth that today’s motorsport teams demand.
